An ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) number is a unique code assigned by FDLE that tells them where to send your fingerprint results. Each agency or organization requiring background checks has its own ORI number.

9. What is an OCA number?
An OCA (Originating Case Agency) number is sometimes required in addition to the ORI. This is an internal tracking number used by certain agencies, such as the Department of Children and Families (DCF) or healthcare licensing boards, to identify applicants.

10. Do I need to provide my ORI and OCA number?
Yes. You must provide the correct ORI number at the time of fingerprinting. If your agency requires an OCA number, you must provide that as well.

11. What happens if I don’t have my ORI number?
Without the correct ORI number, FDLE will not know where to send your fingerprint results, and your background check will not be processed. If you are unsure of your ORI number, contact the agency requesting your fingerprints before your appointment.
Fingerprint Submission & Results
12. How quickly do you submit my fingerprints?
We submit your fingerprints to FDLE the same day they are taken.

13. How long does it take for FDLE to process my fingerprints?
FDLE typically takes 2-3 business days to process the fingerprints and run the background check before automatically sending the results to the requesting agency you provided the ORI# for.

14. Can I receive a copy of my fingerprint results?
No, we do not receive a copy of your fingerprint results. FDLE sends the results directly to the requesting agency.

15. Can you check the status of my fingerprint submission?
We can check if FDLE has sent your fingerprints to the requesting agency, but we do not have access to the results.

16. How long do you keep my fingerprint records?
Fingerprints remain in our system for 30 days. After this period, all information is purged.

17. What if I provided incorrect information on my application?
It is your responsibility to ensure all information is accurate before handing it to the fingerprint technician. Once submitted to FDLE, the information cannot be changed.
